KITSCH!

Hi everyone thought I would drop in today to share some of my other Kitsch creations I made for Craftwork Cards for a recent Create and Craft show!

The papers are a little Cath Kidstonesque I think and I was inspired to make this little apron card (and yes I do own a Cath Kidston apron - had it for many years and still love it!)
This would be a great card to send to a friend who likes to bake!

Now drawing I'm soooo not very good at.... but I was quite pleased with how my spoon, whisk and oven glove came out - LOL!!

Now my next offering is a very CAS (clean and simple) man's birthday card

The other half of the Kitsch collection is this lovely pink and blue colour pallet - here are some cards I made just for myself (in fact they have been whisked away by my lovely friend Elaine who sells them for me where she works!)
How cute is the scottie dog - he comes in the kit already die cut!

I would love to know what you think of these makes, so if you have the time would love you to leave a comment - I love reading comments!!

I will be back again soon.  If you are off to Ally Pally this weekend and are going on Sunday I will see you there!!

Take care everyone and until next time....

Card in a Box!

Hi everyone hope you are all keeping well.  Thought I would share with you on my blog my Card in a Box cards that I've been making recently!  I just LOVE making these cards.  Did you know that they fold flat to post too! Yes they really do!  Anyway did any of you catch Craftwork Cards on Create and Craft last Friday??  The lovely Julie Hickey was demoing these cards!

Julie mentioned on the show that it was one of my creations (yes mine!!) that I had sent to her for a previous weekender show that inspired her and the team up at CWC towers to create some fabulous kits for the show - which sold out in around 20 mins!  I feel so proud about that! (Now I want to add at this point that I didn't come up with the card in a box idea originally (sadly - LOL!!) I had seen it many times on Pinterest and Facebook) and decided to have a go myself!  So here is that card I originally sent to Julie which gave them the kit idea!  This wasn't my first attempt at these cards - but I've attached my first attempt in this post.....

This next Pop up Card is the one I made for Julie for last Friday's show.

I created a little pocket within the box so that you could remove the tag (see picture above and below)

I can't tell you how much I love making these cards!  Now here is my very FIRST attempt at these Cards in a box cards.

Lastly here are some recent commission cards that I've made....

They all get matching envelopes here are pics with yet some more that I've made with the matching envelope in the background!

So I think I've shown you enough - I don't want to bore you!  I really do urge you to have a go and now that you can buy the Pop up card blanks they are even easier to do!  Please feel free to email me at sparklygirltina@gmail.com with your makes so that I can feature you on my weekly Focus on You post for Craftwork Cards.  Talking of which if you have any makes featuring the Kitsch paper collection please send them to me as I'm doing a special Focus on You devoted to this gorgeous collection and there is a lovely £25 online voucher to be won - so what you waiting for!

Talented Cardmaking Friends

Hi everyone hope you are all keeping well.  I'm just popping in today with a share of some gorgeous cards I received last week on my birthday from my cardmaking friends.  I think you will agree that they are all totally gorgeous and how lucky am I to have received them.

This card was made by Beryl.  Beryl doesn't have a blog - which is a real shame as she makes the most wonderful cards....  Perhaps I will continue to nag her!!!

The next card is by Shirley - who does have a blog you can visit her here if you want to see more of her lovely creations!

And finally my friend Karen.  I got Karen hooked on card making last year - she hasn't looked back and makes the most gorgeous cards!  She does have a blog but doesn't use it too much (mind you I can talk I've not been regularly updating mine of late have I - LOL)  If you want to see Karen's blog you can find that here.

All three cards are real stunners I think you will agree.

I love that on the majority of cards that I received both handmade and shop bought had something sparkly on them!  My friends do know me well!

So that's it for today.  Back again sometime soon.

Take care everyone.... and

Happy Crafting

Happy Birthday Dad!

Hi everyone - yet again I've been missing-in-cardmaking action over here on my blog!  So sorry just been snowed with a few projects and card orders - but hey I'm happy with that!!!

Thought I would show you a couple of cards I made recently for my Dad's 70th Birthday - I made one for me and one for my sister.

This is the one for me....

and this was for my sister

I don't know about you but I always struggle with men's cards - but actually I was chuffed with how these two turned out!!!!

To celebrate Dad's birthday we surprised him by being at the hotel he was staying at for the weekend on the Isle of Wight.  We all had a fantastic weekend and Dad loved the fact that we were there too - he had no idea!!!

On his actual birthday we booked a table at a lovely pub in Godshill the food and service were fab - including the fact that they put a candle in Dad's dessert and we all sang Happy Birthday to him - we hadn't asked them to do this but they just did - which we thought was a really nice touch!

Dad said he was a bit rusty playing pool, but he beat Terry and Darran when he played them!
We actually stayed in an apartment just a short distance from the hotel where Dad and Rita were - this was the view from the balcony - it was gorgeous!

On a day trip out we visited the famous Needles

We also visited a classic car show...

This band were entertaining the crowds at the Classic Car show - they were brill!!

Another surprise for my Dad was that I had completed a scrapbook for him that he was waiting for!  He loved looking through it and he had a tear in his eye!
Terry and Darran will be pleased that I've not got any photos of them - well that are in focus anyway - yep took a few pics over that weekend, but a lot are blurry - ahemmmmmm - was drinking and enjoying myself too much!!!!!!!

So that is my share for today, I hope to be posting again soon.  I've got photos of the scrapbook that I want to share with you all so watch this space!

Take care and until next time...
